I am now a Stylist for Stella & Dot!

I am officially an independent stylist for Stella & Dot! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for my first package to arrive! Stay tuned for lots of cool, new looks from the Spring line! Check out the gorgeous goods - http://stelladot.com/lindsayjpitcher

Who doesn’t love a fashion show?

I do, especially when the show features my favorite jewelry boutique – Stella & Dot! The Chicago team really put on a classy show, in a very cool space in the West Loop. They had roughly 145 Chic Chicago Chicks attend the event, all talking accessories, Chicago, and everything fashion. I went with Liz Opie, one of Chicago’s top stylists and a cool chick. All of the directors had just come back from a crazy few days in Dallas previewing the new Spring line – which was well displayed before and after the show. I think I elbowed several people just trying to get a peek! The new line is amazing! I cannot wait to get my hands on some of the pieces. Stay tuned! I am becoming a stylist and will have a separate blog dedicated to styling and fashion (of course)! Check below for some shots from the show and some of my favorite statement necklaces!

Globes Fashion – Blush Rocked the Night

So, I am a sucker for awards shows. Well, not the show itself, but E!’s red carpet and the after show and of course, the E! special the next night! But, the Globes are my favorite, love seeing the mix of movie and tv stars. Everyone seems more relaxed  (except for Angelina Jolie of course) which made most of the ladies shine! I’ve gotta say, I didn’t see too many disasters this year, with the exception of a few ladies, ahem Diana Agron, Michelle Williams, and as much as I dig me some Ringer, Sarah Michelle (PS – please don’t ever leave your fashion choice up to your 2-year-old, unless you want to continue to look like a piece of her artwork.)

I definitely had some standouts for the evening. Blush tones were obviously a big hit this year – done right by Charlize Theron in Dior and Giuliana Rancic in Basil Soda, totally blown by Julie Bowen in Reem Acra. And I think it might have been the hair and not the dress, but Jessica Biel looked amazing in Ellie Saab.

Now, everyone knows I die for Giuliana, and she does take the top spot for her second look last night, but I know the night is about TV and Movies, so my “best dress” goes to Claire Danes in J. Mendel – she rocked that exquisite backless number. I could have gone without the red lipstick though. My “most paid off risk” definitely goes to Lea Michelle in Marchesa – she looked stunning and veered away from her typical Oscar de la Renta ball gown look. Now, for overall “all around gorgeous” I have to go with Jessica Alba in classic Gucci. Just stunning.

All around, great, girlie fashion last night and not too many misses. Some tips for February: Michelle Williams needs to stop looking like her daughter, Sarah Michelle needs to never, ever let her daughter select her gown, and Julie Bowen needs to hit up a tanning bed.

Stella & Dot – A Unique Twist on Boutique

Alright girls… looking to spice up your accessories wardrobe? or, trying to find a unique gift for that hard to buy for friend? Look no further than Stella & Dot an online and stylist-based jewelry and accessories boutqiue!

The greatest part – you will not find their stuff in stores – you can buy online or, like me, find a stylist in your area, so you are not going to end up with the same accessories as all of your friends! Stella & Dot collections have been featured in In Style and Lucky Magazine, on Gossip Girl and the Today Show, and many bachelorette fans will likely recognize some pieces on many of the ladies of the hit ABC show.

Stella & Dot introduces new beautiful and innovative collections a few times a year, which makes it easy to put together a cohesive look. Some of the collections come from notable designers from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Coach, and others. Each collection is unique – from boho, to elegant, to street chic (my favorite, of course!).

Now, sure you can go online and order away, but, the best is to hook up with a local stylist or go to a trunk show, so you can see these exquisite pieces in person. My Chicago-based stylist, Liz Opie, is amazing – she works full time as a Stella & Dot stylist, so she is 100% dedicated to helping us Chicago gals get glammed up. I hosted a trunk show at my condo before the holidays and Liz setup shop with the entire Stella & Dot line. All my girlfriends got to drink wine, chit chat, and our favorite – shop! Liz was on hand to help style or answer questions, but she is NOT pushy and you can tell she really loves what she does and has fun doing it! Of course, you get great hostess rewards for hosting a trunk show, but there are more benefits to having a stylist to call upon, especially Liz! I have had several last minute gift crises and Liz came through and had gifts, perfectly boxed in true Stella & Dot fashion, at my door within a few hours. Not to mention the hoops she jumped through to get my mom some gifts for me for xmas without me knowing!

Okay, okay, enough about Liz… back to the goods…. Stella & Dot is known for their jewelry, but they did just come out with a new handbag line, wihch is adorable. But, my favorite is the jewelry! It is unique, quality, versatile, fun, and the best part - most of it is very affordable! 50% of the current line is under $50! But, I would have to say, most of the items I go for are between $49 and $125… and they are HOT! I have to give my mom credit for starting and growing my S&D collection! Best gifts!

Cons: They have a great range of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, purses, and brooches, however, I am a ring gal and they don’t have as much finger candy as I would like
Pricing: Pieces range from $39 to $198, but most fall between $49 and $100.
Tip: Great for gifts! Every piece comes packaged in adorable and girly Stella & Dot boxes

Cha Boutique – St. Louis’ Hottest Boutique!

Now I know what you are thinking, this is supposed to be a Chicago fashion blog… Well, I can’t help myself… I spend the holidays in St. Louis and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to rave about my favorite St. Louis Boutique – Cha Boutique in Ladue, MO (even though I thought it was Clayton!). Now, it is tough to compete with the other quaint little stores that line Clayton Road, however Cha is the perfect mix of funky accessories, amazing designers, and great sales people! This is the one STL boutique that I find myself not able to go in and NOT purchase something, no matter how hard I try. (We know I don’t have willpower when it comes to shopping)

Now, while Cha has the same “fantasy closet” aura that Paper Dolls Boutique has, it is definitely a step up in quality. This is not where you come to outfit your entire wardrobe, however they often have awesome sales. We came through on Black Friday and everything in the store was 20 – 30% off! Unfortunately, I waited to return to Cha until New Years Eve – not too sure why I picked that crazy day. Everything I bought was full price, however, they were offering 25% any “dressy” item, including a to die for Parker Sequin Aztec Skirt!

After spending an hour and a half perusing the store and trying on a bunch of cute tops, boots, and yes, the Parker skirt, I left a few pounds heavier, curteousy of my Mom, with two Bella Dahl tops, two amazeball crossbody bags (see pic) – one silver, one gold, of course, and a perfect pair of boots, which I will have to credit my mom for picking out! And yes, I passed up the Parker Skirt – I cannot be all dressed up with no where to go! Cha ended what I thought would be a long day of “boutiquing it”, as we call it. I got everything I needed! Well, everything except the fun spiked heels I later bought at Macy’s (I know, I know).

Cha Boutique has a great decor and is perfectly merchandised – like not the place where you leave thinking “why do they have this big of a space for so little merchandise”, but not the place where you struggle to push clothes to one side of the rack just to view one thing. And, they don’t have those dumb hangers that make everything fall to the floor at the slightest touch!

They have a great range of designers, from high end favorites like Joié and Parker, to unique designers, like Bella Dahl, as well as affordable favorites like Naughty Monkey, Wildfox, Hardtail, and Dolce Vita.

Bottom Line: If you are ever within 25 miles of Ladue, MO – don’t miss Cha Boutique! You will not be disappointed! Oh and PS – they got Best New Boutique in 2010 on Alive Magazine’s Hot List  and Best Customized Trends in 2011, as if there weren’t other reasons to go!

Tip: Follow @chaboutique on Twitter – they send out great tips on when they are having sales or offering secret sales!

Best For: statement pieces, comfy but cute tops, funky purses, and customized TOMs
Cons: I wish I could buy everything! The clothes are quality and unique – so go for some great pieces, but as I said, you won’t fill your whole wardrobe there.
Pricing: mid-range – think some of the clothes you would find in Savvy department at Nordstroms, but with tons of pieces you would never find there! Most of the clothing ranges from $100 – $250, but I got two great purses for $85 each!
